Cross-Pollination Of Drug Culture and White Supremacy In Rural America
While we’re waiting for the election results to be finalized, we need to get really clear that there’s a volume of people in the country who have been thoroughly subsumed by racist, sexist, disreality propaganda through malignant Breitbart, and QAnon “alternate information drops,” and these unwitting people now deny any fact-checking, educated viewpoint.
Trump has been a perfect channel for Russian political strategists at work with the end goal to disrupt US democracy using chaos and contradiction methods so much as to have us destroy ourselves through foment, mental breakdown, and societal division. They want a US implosion, an economic collapse, so that Russia can restore pre-eminence as a world superpower. Pay attention, please.
The fact a QAnon cult follower has been elected into the House of Representatives decries the reality this political machinery is working. We now have a real problem to address voicing a majority opinion of politically active individuals representing entire communities disconnected from and at odds with science, facts, and the basis of democratic principles of our country.
I am asking all people, especially in the blue states, to take the time to understand exactly how a political agenda can be built on “outrage” from the “loss of white male privilege” (and, more to the point, their institutional power and corruption). Essentially, that corruption has gone underground to keep itself alive using modes of immersion-based thought control.
As we must remember, white terrorists, similar to other fundamentalist terrorists around the world, commit atrocities after immersing themselves in alternate media sources which specifically intend to cultivate hatred and an entitlement to act violently. Wake up and smell the coffee; our incumbent white house and congress have done little or nothing to restrict these channels, and smugly collude with resultant violence. The campaign of lies, omissions, and political rhetoric of denial which has become a discourse existing unto itself has furthered the politics of hate to gain momentum and false credence.
In case those of you progressive city dwellers have not been paying attention, I would like to offer some experiences I have had in my rural county, and in my neighborhood.
Where I live is a largely rural uneducated area inside a “blue state,” less than 2 hours drive time from cities on the cutting edge of the most progressive thought and politics found in the world. Yet around me, white male supremacist defiance has been quite literally flown like flags, on front lawns, business store fronts, and from one or several pole stands mounted inside pick up truck beds.
A few years ago these same trucks hung testicle molds from their tow-hitches, parading a shock-value based mentality.
For the months and weeks preceding this election, “American flags” or cultish versions of it have been paired with Trump flags and election placards. Many of these trucks are the same ones driving recklessly on highways and through small neighborhoods with flags waving to demonstrate quasi-militantly, how this obnoxious, intentionally intimidating white male ego entitlement still shall reign here supreme. “Patriotic” flags and propaganda are also being used to hide behind and cover up illegal drug trade activity as well. An “I can do whatever I want” mindset combines quite well with the idea that “it’s a free country” (irony-missed completely) into a baseline alliance of gobs of weed farmers with a conservative party platform disregarding anything but high dollar profit while they destroy the land and desecrate the communities in which they live.
The presentation of hostility is a front for absolutely no shame in full pursuit of profits from a soulless path enabling far-reaching outcomes of mass individual disconnection/social breakdown via drug use. Drug farmers have completely and thoroughly invested in and become co-opted by an entire parasitic industry built to profit off of societal delusions from addiction.
Stay with me here. I have not intended to digress from my main concerns on QAnon and Breitbart but only to establish further context for my points; lack of education, layered with economic slump, layered upon people lacking community involvement, has created another large subgroup of reclusive, restless, maladjusted, selfishly motivated, unthinking people who have no values except self-interest using the drug industry as their method to get rich and “rise above the challenge of the times”.
I want to be perfectly clear now- drug abuse creates confusion, creates mentally unstable people, self-perpetuates individual disempowerment, aggravates social distress. This in turn, allows another path of entry, if not outright recruitment, into me-first ideologies very, very close to “alternate reality” agendas promoting fascism and domestic terrorism. Don’t for a minute forget, due to the nature of this industry, most of these growers are heavily armed with military grade weaponry. Deluded, yes, plus dangerous, this is another group of morons; a not much “different” garden-weed variety.
I invite you to consider your own interactions with people who have to some extent chosen to avoid admitting where they fit into an entire web of disillusionment which has been woven to lure despairing desperate people (within your midst) toward vulnerablility to fascist political and economic ideologies. I also invite you to realize now is a good time, if you’re a true pacifist, if you want to see a non-deluded body politic emerge with enough courage to save the planet; we need you to be thinking and acting with all your wits about you, so that we may rise above the many seeds, flowers, and fruits of psychological manipulations from many sources at all levels, in order to operate together best.
